The Fiji National Development Plan conducted a training workshop at the Fiji Corrections Service Coffee Shop, aimed to train senior personnel of the FCS on the importance of understanding and aligning the Annual Corporate Plan (ACP) with the strategic plans set forth by the government for various ministries and agencies.
The workshop served as a platform for enhancing awareness among FCS officers regarding their individual contributions toward achieving shared governmental goals.
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Nilesh from the Ministry of Strategic Management. Dr. Nilesh articulated “understanding these strategic plans is crucial not only for personal development but also for fostering a cohesive approach to meeting national goals.”
He highlighted that each officer’s efforts are integral to the success of collective initiatives, thereby reinforcing a sense of responsibility and accountability among participants.
A key takeaway from this workshop was the new Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation (IME) team. This team will be responsible for overseeing all Annual Corporate Plans across government agencies, ensuring that strategic objectives are met effectively and efficiently.
Following Dr. Nilesh’s presentation,
FCS personnel engaged in an exercise led by Assistant Commissioner of Corrections’ Administration and Strategic Management (ACCASM), Mr. Moceisuva, and Director Human Resource and management (DHRM), Mrs. Racaca, to train them on developing strategic plans aligned with the six specific goals pertinent to the FC
S.
This allowed participants to apply theoretical knowledge practically, fostering collaboration and innovative thinking among officers.
Today’s workshop not only equipped FCS personnel with essential insights into government strategic plans but also reinforced their critical role in contributing to national objectives through effective implementation and evaluation strategies.
