Naboro boundry fencing works almost complete

The Naboro Corrections Centre boundary fencing is almost complete with a total budget of $570,000.00 which was approved by Government under the 2014 Capital works program for the Fiji Corrections Service.

This is the first time ever that the Naboro Corrections Institution have set up boundary fencing which is aimed at improving the standard of infrastructure.

The total length of the boundary fencing is 1,800 metres which covers the main entrance to the Naboro Corrections facilities as well as the area that is being used for farming by the inmates.

Fencing works have been carried out by the FCS Engineering Unit for the duration of 24 weeks.

“The boundary fencing will also contribute to the efficient and effective implementation of the Fiji Corrections Service main core function of the safe custody of offenders who are currently under our care.”

The total fencing budget also catered for the Minimum Corrections Institution Fencing whilst maintenance and upgrading was also carried out on the existing Medium Corrections fence.

The Projects and Engineering Unit of the Fiji Corrections Service have been conducting most renovation works in and around all corrections facilities around the country.
