Joinery

FCS Joinery is the commercial production of artefacts for meeting the needs of the general public and achieving its management, operational and financial objectives. The products range from wooden chest, coffee tables, chairs, coconuts scrappers, tea trays, flower vase’, walking sticks, rocking chairs and palm stools. It started off on a small scale but it has expanded to produce beds, church pews and table and chairs for schools. Located at the Medium Corrections Centre, the department first embarked on Joinery in an effort to rehabilitate inmates. It has a good range of machines capable of manufacturing a wide variety of products. Tewnty-four inmates work in the Joinery on a daily basis and they are capable of manufacturing artefacts and furniture of any design.
