FCS & ICS collaborations raises optimism for growth and development

The Fiji Corrections Service & Indonesia Corrections in a historical development agreed to enhancer mutual cooperation in social reintegration of offenders and resilience to cooperate in strategic leadership training and development of the staff of FCS.

In Jakarta today, the Commissioner of Corrections, Dr Jalesi Nakarawa, and representatives of the Director of Corrections Indonesia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Indonesia, Ministry of Immigrations and Corrections and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fiji met at the Indonesia Corrections HQ to discuss areas of assistance in social rehabilitation of inmates and staff training.

While addressing the forum, Commissioner Dr Nakarawa highlighted that the development of an MOU will provide a framework for future cooperation. The consensus is that the draft MOU needs to be developed through the diplomatic channel to realize key outcomes agreed for implementation.
