Assistant YRP Cordinator, CCO Jale Vosadrau explains to Minister for Youth and Sports, Commander Viliame Naupoto during the Agriculture Show 2014 in Nausori.

The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) is part of the annual Agriculture Show which is being staged at Syria Park in Nausori.

The three days show enables farmers, agri-business people and stakeholders to showcase their produce as well as share ideas on the various technologies on farming.

With a thriving farming program for inmates in Naboro, the agriculture show will be added exposure to the officers involved in the commercial arm of the FCS.

“This show is also an eye-opener for the FCS as we can explore more ways and means of expanding our farm in Naboro as well as improving on our small farms in the other institutions around the country.”

“Food security is our main focus as we plant our own root crops and vegetables for consumption in the institutions so we also want to expand that area within the FCS.”

Also on display at the FCS booth at the agriculture show are wooden artifacts such as wooden chest boxes, tea trays, wine trays, mug holders etc.

The tailoring Unit of the Commercial Enterprise Unit of the FCS have also sewn clothes that are also on display like shirts, tops, skirts and many more.
