More than 50 senior officers of the Fiji Corrections Service have been reminded to work smart to achieve their targets for 2015.

In opening the 4th Quarter Command Group at the Pacific Theological College in Nasese this morning, Lieutenant Colonel Ifereimi Vasu has called on his senior officers to work smart and work hard.

“I must commend you all for the hard work that you have put in to achieve our targets for 2014, but also ensure that you perform to the best of your abilities to achieve our targets for 2015,” said Lt.Colonel Vasu.

“I am satisfied with our work last year but there are minor details that need to be ironed out to ensure the smooth running of our operations for this year,” he added.

Lt.Colonel Vasu also commended the great work carried out by inmates during the cane harvesting period last year.

“This programme will have huge benefits for the inmates especially in terms of them learning to make use of natural resources around them. Of course they will be able to put all they have learnt into practice once they are successfully reintegrated back into their communities,” added Lt.Colonel Vasu.

The senior officers will be presenting their achievements for last year and their business plans for 2015.

They will also be discussing on their Annual Corporate Plan which is to be a guideline for activities to be carried out for the year.

The three days Command Brief ends on Wednesday 21st, January.
