Two Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) officers who served in the United Nations Mission in Iraq alongside the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) were traditionally handed over yesterday (7/2/25). COA Josaia Leawere and COA Waisele Vocea together with their RFMF colleagues returned after serving in the mission for one year and present to receive the RFMF delegation led by Director HRM, Col Talemaibau and the two officers, was the Commissioner of Corrections, Dr Jalesi Nakarawa, senior officers and members of the Fiji Corrections Services.
The Fiji Corrections Service extended its sincere appreciation to the Commander RFMF in facilitating the continued collaborations between FCS and RFMF which has seen the deployment of FCS officers to overseas missions and has been proven instrumental in enhancing the knowledge, experience and skills of those that have served abroad.
The Commissioner of Fiji Corrections thanked COA Leawere and COA Vocea for their exemplary service abroad, emphasizing that their experiences will greatly enrich their jobs given the exposures and experiences acquired from their participation in an international peace mission.
The FCS remains committed towards contributing to upholding the rule of law, promoting human rights and peaceful co-existence.
