Reception officers course at the Suva Corrections Institute in Korovou

Ten officers from the Central/Eastern Division of the Fiji Corrections Service are attending a one-week course on Receptions officers training at the Suva Corrections Institution in Korovou.

This is to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the role of a reception officer when carrying out administrative work when inmates enter the institutions to serve their sentence.

Assistant Superintendent Josua Rokodausiga says that this workshop is important so that officers understand the accuracy that is needed when creating folders for inmates as this will enable the department to better understand the inmate and his/her background.

“This training is to enhance their skills and assist them in carrying out their roles effectively and efficiently.

More workshops will be carried out throughout the year on staff development.
