The National Headquarters mens team won the Corrections Skills title for the second year running in Naboro.

Led by COA Tomasi Kubunavanua, the NHQ team proved yet again the importance of team work even when they were not on par physically.

“We knew we were not well prepared physically due to our own lack of attendance at training, but we made sure we worked as a team from the beginning until the end,’’ said COA Kubunavanua.

The team topped the theory tests and were almost on par with the team from the West, however their team work over the 17 obstacles earned them enough points to win the title again during the Corrections Day celebrations.

“I think today we wanted to prove that our win last year was not a fluke, and we thank all our fellow officers at NHQ for their morale support during our training and we also thank the Commissioner for this opportunity.”

The team was awarded their Corrections Day Shield by chief guest to the celebrations Mr Meleti Bainimarama, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs.
