The Commissioner of Corrections, Lieutenant Colonel Ifereimi Vasu and his family received the biggest surprise this morning when they were awakened to the sound of the Fiji Corrections Service Band playing the ‘Revail’ at his residence in Domain, Suva.
Senior officers of the Fiji Corrections Service had gathered at his residence as early as 4am this morning to wish him a happy birthday as he turned 55.
Lt.Colonel Vasu thanked the senior officers for the greatest surprise ever. Celebrations continued at the National Headquarters in Suva where the FCS family gathered to share in the auspicious occasion.
Hosted by senior officers of the National Headquarters in Suva, Deputy Commissioner of Corrections, Superintendent Akuila Namakadre said that the birthday surprise was befitting to the standards that Lieutenant Colonel has set for the Fiji Corrections Service.
“Sir, we would like to thank you most sincerely for your leadership and vision that has seen the department rise up to where it is today. You have set the standards for us and this is just a small token of appreciation that we would like to share with you on your special day,” said Mr.Namakadre.
