WORK on the new remand block at the Natabua Corrections Centre in Lautoka is expected to commence next week following a site-handover between the Fiji Corrections Service and Pernix Fiji Ltd this week.
Officiating at the handover was FCS Assistant Commissioner (Administration) Apimeleki Taukei, FCS projects manager Setoki Silivale and a representative of Pernix Fiji Ltd.
The project is worth $1.336m and will cater for 100 remand inmates when complete.
The block is expected to be complete by mid-August.
