Family is everything says Commissioner Corrections, Commander Francis Kean.
In his Easter service message to correction officers, Commander Kean stressed the importance of family to the organisation.
“One of our organisations’ value is family, and I want to remind us all of a message by Mother Theresa ….What can we do to bring peace to this world …Go home and love your family,” he said.
Commander Kean also re-iterated to the officers the importance of the task at hand.
“I want to remind you all that we are in the business of saving lives, It’s a noble profession, If there certain things in our lives that we need to get rid of in order to improve on our services, so let it be,” he said.
He added the core function of correctional officers was to save lives and officers needed to be physically, mentally and most important of all, spiritually prepared to do this work.
The Easter service was attended by more than 400 officers from the Headquarters, Central Eastern and Naboro correctional institutions.
