The Fiji Corrections Service has joined thousands of people across the country in praying for the 44 Fijian soldiers who were captured by rebel forces in Golan Heights, Syria late last week.

Corrections Chaplain, Senior Pastor Sanivalati Sokoveta led a group of pastors from various denominations at the Suva Corrections Centre from 12 midnight till this morning on a chain prayer programme.

“We started at 12 midnight last night and continued till this morning. Supervisors and officers from the 13 institutions around the country have also been encouraged to pray for our brothers in arms and their families  during this difficult period,” explained Mr. Sokoveta.

Officers and families of the FCS will all be joining in on the prayer program every 12 midnight.
