Commissioner of Corrections, Commander Francis Kean launched his Commissioner’s Intent booklet which outlines his vision for the Fiji Corrections Service, in a workshop conducted last Saturday.
This is the first of its kind for the Fiji Corrections Service, since its establishment in 1874. Also launched were other Command Documents such as the Annual Corporate Plan, Strategic Development 2018-2013, Finance Manual and the TMA (Trade Manufacturing Accounts) Business Plan.
The workshop, attended by the management, supervisors, department heads and officers in charge, was basically to learn more about the five important documents and map out the way forward for the organisation.
Participants were able to identify some of the loopholes in the last financial year and discussions were centred on ways to address these issues in the new financial year that begins today.
All plans and strategies focused on the vision of the organisation which is to successfully restore lives and also its mission and that is to successfully rehabilitate inmates to become law abiding citizens.
