The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) held its inaugural Commissionerβs Church Parade for 2025 today at the Korovou Chapel in Walubay, attended by the National Headquarters and Central Eastern Division Officers and personnel. Concurrently, other Correctional Centers across the Northern, Western, and Southern Divisions conducted their own Church Parades, aligning with the Commissionerβs Intent. The event marked a significant moment of spiritual reflection and unity among the FCS, celebrating their hard work and commitment over the past months.
Senior Pastor Reverend Laisenia Kaiwai from the Nauluvatu Methodist Church Division led the service, delivering a powerful sermon based from 2 Chronicles 16:1β10. Reverend Kaiwai reminded FCS personnel of the dangers of turning away from God and emphasized the importance of relying on Him for strength during challenging times. He illustrated this message by recounting how God delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt and sustained them through miraculous acts, reinforcing the belief that with God, nothing is impossible.
Commissioner Dr. Jalesi Nakarawa expressed sincere gratitude to all officers and staff for their unwavering dedication. He highlighted the vital role of faith, stating, βGoing to church is not merely a routine or obligation; it is an essential aspect of life.β This powerful reminder underscores the importance of allowing faith to guide both personal and professional conduct.

The Commissionerβs Church Parade reaffirmed the core values that unite the Fiji Corrections Service: integrity, faith, gratitude, and community spirit. All personnel were encouraged to remain steadfast in their calling, drawing inspiration from Proverbs 3:3-4, which serves as a guiding principle throughout their journey within the FCS.
The Fiji Corrections Service remains committed to emphasizing the importance of faith as the source of strength in its mission to serve the community with integrity and dedication.
